Why We Can’t Take it All


We are often asked why we can’t take items that “someone could use” but that don’t meet our donation guidelines.

We hope our donors will understand that our clients and their case managers have come to rely on us to continue to provide basic home furnishing essentials that can be safely used in small apartments. That is the sole focus of our mission. To manage the flow of over 60,000 items and meet the needs and expectations of 2500 families in need every year, we have created guidelines that work for our refined processes and space allocation. Anything that is not part of our regular process disrupts workflow, clogs space, and interferes with volunteer efforts to fulfill our mission.
